Col. C. J. Bronzi

Colonel Bronzi was born and raised in Poughquag, New York. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 1996. Following graduation from the Basic Officer Course and Infantry Officer Course, he reported to 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines, 2nd Marine Division in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During this tour, he served as the Combined Anti-Armor Team (CAAT) Platoon Commander, Weapons Company Executive Officer and Weapons Company Commander. In 1998, he deployed with the Warlords of Battalion Landing Team 2/2 and the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit.

In early 2000, Colonel Bronzi reported to The Basic School for duty as a tactics instructor. In 2001, Colonel Bronzi was assigned as an instructor at Infantry Officer Course where he also served as the Class Advisor for Infantry Officer Course 1-03. Following his tour at The Basic School, Colonel Bronzi attended the Field Artillery Captains Career Course in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and graduated in June 2003.

Colonel Bronzi reported to the Magnificent Bastards of 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, 1st Marine Division in Camp Pendleton, California in June 2003. He served as the Commanding Officer of Golf Company until November 2004. During this period, he deployed to Ar Ramadi, Iraq, in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM II. Upon returning from Iraq, he assumed command of Weapons Company and subsequently deployed as the Mobile Assault Company Commander for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. In December 2005, Colonel Bronzi was assigned as the Battalion Operations Officer until his departure in May 2006.

Colonel Bronzi reported to the Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, Virginia, in June 2006. He served two years as a Faculty Advisor and one year as the Academic Operations Section Head. In July 2009, Colonel Bronzi attended the United Kingdom’s Advanced Command and Staff Course (ACSC) in Shrivenham, England. He graduated in July 2010 with a Master of Arts in Defence Studies from King’s College London.

Following graduation from ACSC, Colonel Bronzi reported to 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division in Camp Pendleton, California, to serve as the Assistant Operations Officer. From September 2010 until September 2011, Colonel Bronzi deployed with Regimental Combat Team 1 (RCT-1) to Helmand Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Upon returning from Afghanistan, Colonel Bronzi assumed duties as the 1st Marine Regiment Operations Officer.

Colonel Bronzi assumed command of 1st Battalion, 4th Marines in September 2012. During this tour, he deployed as Battalion Landing Team 1/4 with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Colonel Bronzi relinquished command of the China Marines in May 2014. He reported to the National War College in July 2014 and graduated with a Master of Science in National Security Strategy in June 2015.

Colonel Bronzi reported to the Joint Staff following his graduation from the National War College. He served as a Deputy Executive Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from June 2015 until July 2017. He reported to Programs & Resources, Headquarters Marine Corps in August 2017 and served as a Program Coordinator and Branch Head in the MAGTF Integration Branch until June 2019. In July 2019, he reported to I Marine Expeditionary Force to serve as the G-37 Force Development Officer. Colonel Bronzi assumed command of 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit in November, 2019.
