Australian Army Maj. Watson is participating in PANAMAX as a member of the Coalition Forces Maritime Component Command Cell. PANAMAX 2013 is an annual U.S. Southern Command-sponsored exercise series that focuses on ensuring the defense of the Panama Canal. PANAMAX 2013 develops and sustains relationships that improve the capacity of our emerging and enduring partners' security forces to achieve common desired goals, while fostering friendly cooperation and understanding among participating forces. PANAMAX 2013 is a multinational exercise that, this year, includes participants from Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and the United States.
