U.S. Marine Sgt. Jimmy Watson measures a length of time-fuse for time-fuse calculation sustainment training aboard the USS Essex (LHD 2) off the coast of San Diego Feb. 28, 2015. Watson is an explosive ordinance disposal technician with EOD Detachment, Combat Logistics Battalion 15, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The Marines with the EOD were practicing how to calculate and measure timed fuses. Knowing the rate at which a known length of fuse burns allows the EOD Marines to calculate how long they need to cut a fuse to achieve precisely timed detonations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
