U.S. Marine Cpl. Smiley Seneff is an airframe mechanic with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 161 (Reinforced), 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, aboard the USS Anchorage (LPD-23). Seneff is also a collateral duty inspector. His duties are to inspect other Marine’s maintenance to ensure that aircraft are ready to fly. CDIs are an essential part of the process of flying. Corporals and sergeants are trusted to be able to inspect aircraft before they take off, and this is a great way small unit leadership is put into play. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Steve H.
