CAMP KOREAN VILLAGE, Iraq (March 8, 2007) -- NFL football players Alge Crumpler, Atlanta Falcons; Shelton Quarles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Will Shields, Kansas City Chiefs and Benjamin Watson, New England Patriots ride in a Marine Light Armored Vehicle during a visit to Camp Korean Village, Iraq March 8. The professional football stars signed autographs and posed for pictures with the Marines and sailors of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable). The players visited several different bases throughout Iraq as part of a tour sponsored by the United Service Organization. The players were as appreciative of the troops they visited as the troops are for the time the players devoted to visiting Iraq, according to Quarles. "Everybody has been excited about us being here and been appreciative of us taking our time to come out during the off season. I'm definitely appreciative of what [the troops] are doing for us, providing our freedom and giving us the opportunity to do what we do," Quarles said.. The 15th MEU (SOC) moved into Rutbah Jan. 20 to provide security and to establish an Iraqi Police force in the city.
