A U.S. Marine with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Maritime Raid Force fast-ropes out of a CH-53E Super Stallion onto the flight deck of the USS Essex (LHD 2) at sea in the Indian Ocean, June 17, 2015. Fast-roping gives these Marines the capability of a rapid insert from different types of aircraft onto both land and moving vessels.
