ARABIAN SEA (June 26, 2015) U.S. Marine Cpl. Damon Dryden, middle, sits in the captain’s chair of the USS Essex (LHD 2) next to Staff Sgt. Matthew Spry, left, and Staff Sgt. Shane Kresge after being awarded the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit “Marine of the Week.” Dryden is an AV-8B Harrier airframes mechanic with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 161 (Reinforced), 15th MEU and from Jeffersonville, Indiana. Spry and Kresge are both with VMM-161 (Rein.), 15th MEU. Dryden’s maintenance work ethic, leadership and knowledge are apparent throughout the shop and contagious among the Marines he mentors and works with. The 15th MEU is embarked on the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
