GULF OF ADEN (June 28, 2015) A U.S. Navy MH-60S Sea Hawk from the “Blackjacks” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 21, takes off from the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). The pilots maintain their flight readiness by performing take-off and landing drills. The 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit is embarked on the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
