INDIAN OCEAN (July 24, 2015) U.S. Marine Cpl. Houston Davis gets behind the wheel of the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) after being awarded the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s “Marine of the Week.” Davis is a member of India Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th MEU and is part of the 15th MEU Maritime Raid Force’s security element. While serving as a team leader with the security element, Davis ensured the preparation of two of his Marines to take part in the Lima Company Machine Gun Leaders Course and five Marines to take part in the BLT Marine Corps Martial Arts Program course.
