GULF OF OMAN (Oct. 27, 2015) U.S Marine Lance Cpl. Patrick Bevis fast ropes in the hangar bay of the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Bevis is a member of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Maritime Raid Force security element. The Marines fast roped in order to stay familiar with the techniques while deployed. The 15th MEU, embarked on the ships of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group, is deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
