Staff Sgt. Loran Green, topographic chief, Command Element, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, receives a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his performance during pre-deployment training in a ceremony in the hanger bay of the USS Peleliu Nov. 1. The first-of-the-month formation highlighted those Marines who received awards or were promoted. The 15th MEU is deployed as part of the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group as a theater reserve and crisis response force throughout U.S. Central Command and the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility
