TANDUO, Malaysia (Nov. 10,2015) U.S. Marine Brig. Gen. Christopher J. Mahoney speaks about the important role U.S. and Malaysian armed forces play in maintaining theater security in the Pacific during the opening ceremony for Malaysia-United States Amphibious Exercise 2015. Mahoney is the deputy commander of Marine Forces Pacific. During MALUS AMPHEX 15, Marines with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit worked with Malaysian armed forces sharing jungle survival skills, jungle warfare tactics, and amphibious operations. The purpose of the exercise was to strengthen military cooperation in the planning and execution of amphibious operations between Malaysian armed forces and U.S. Marines.
