The meal included lizard, turtle, python, fish, bats, birds, rice cooked in coconuts, and a salad made of jungle vegetation. The purpose of the exercise was to strengthen military cooperation in the planning and execution of amphibious operations between Malaysian armed forces and U.S. Marines. The 15th MEU is currently deployed in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to promote regional stability and security in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.
